Although finals were postponed until Monday because of Hurricane Hermine, that didn't stop anyone from coming to see the final round of the 2016 Big Joe Jersey Talent Show. It was a loud and energetic evening filled with great music, singing and dance. I was so happy to see so many familiar faces in the crowd, along with many new ones, who all came together to support Jersey's talented performers.

It was five celebrity judges who carefully watched each performance and rated them in regards to talent, stage presence and appearance. Each and every performance was exciting and entertaining in their own way and I hope to see all eleven contestants continue on to do what they love. There was a mere two point difference between first and second place. Nicholas Blum was awarded third place, Sophie & Echo Picone won second place, and Kaleigh Brendle was awarded first place. A huge congratulations to these three, along with all of the wonderful contestants on Monday night as well as all the dedicated performers I've seen this summer.

Also, I’d like to say thank you to our sponsors, who we wouldn’t be able to do the talent show without. Portrait Recording Studios, who is giving out a priceless grand prize of a recording package, which includes full audio recording and mixing for a single song, a recorded and edited video for that song, and much more! World Wide Piano of Edison, who is giving away an acoustic Hallet Davis & Co. 45″ studio piano. And BuyDig.com, who gets to spend every Sunday night with the Jersey Prize Team, giving out beach goodies and coupons for their website, which sells almost every electronic imaginable and offers free shipping! And the gorgeous trophies that will be awarded to the first, second and third place performers are donated by Ironbound Trophies of Lacey.

Its been an incredible experience watching so many talented individuals perform their passion on stage to audiences who were exceptionally supportive. I appreciate everyone's support for all the contestants and I can't wait until next year to see what new talents we'll have. I hope to see everyone there at Jenkinson's in Point Pleasant!
