The details were revealed Thursday when his lawyer sought to lower bail for suspended Neptune police Sgt. Philip Seidle from $2 million to $350,000.

Attorney Edward Bertucio argued Seidle was not a flight risk. Bertucio questioned his client's mental state, saying Seidle did not even know whether his ex-wife was dead days later.

However, the prosecutor told the judge Seidle had fired from two directions to make sure he killed 51-year-old Tamara Wilson-Seidle on June 16.

The prosecution said it would seek life in prison without parole if Seidle is convicted.

The judge rejected lower bail.
