MOUNT LAUREL — Police in this New Jersey township scrambled after getting a report of four suspicious donkeys loitering behind a home.

The donkeys made a run for it, albeit more of a slow trot, when Mount Laurel officers arrived on the scene Saturday. The officers yelled and used to a patrol car to corral the animals during the slow pursuit.

True to their stubbornness, police say the donkeys did not bray their address. But, the officers managed to return the animals, unharmed, to the enclosure from which they escaped.
