Lockdown Lifted At Kean University

A lockdown has been lifted for parts of Kean University after a man thought to be walking with a shotgun was found by Union Township police.

According to a university tweet the man was not carrying a firearm and posed no threat to the campus.

News 12 New Jersey reports the person was carrying an umbrella.

Campus Police posted on the Kean Facebook page earlier that the man was seen walking north on Green Lane toward Morris Avenue around 11 a.m.

Several campus building were immediately placed on lockdown. The campus in a tweet say that Harwood Arena, Kean Hall, the Child Care Center and the administration building were on lockdown.
