Union County Senator Raymond Lesniak is the winner of our newly installed weekly “capa freschia”, or as my grandmother used to call it “clear head” award.

For those of you who don’t know what a clear head is…it’s someone who has nothing better to think of than something inane…like a misappropriation of priorities.

Granted, we’re now in the silly season just before lawmakers take a break before the holidays, so rest assured that many bills like this will come up.

For instance, just the other day we talked about a bill that hopes to place more restrictions on teen drivers by having their parents “log” the number of hours their kids practice driving, in the hopes that they report an honest accounting of the hours driven. Parents will be expected to employ the “honor system” to make sure that their kids log the requisite number of practice hours.

Now this!

Who knew we had that many tigers in New Jersey in the first place? The last I heard, didn’t the Jackson tiger lady put hers in a preserve in Texas?

Regardless, the good Senator wants to prevent whatever tigers do live within the states confines don’t wind up in a Newark chop shop, along with copper wiring and late model Hondas stolen from Hoboken.

I know…I’m a little cynical!

I’m going to borrow a line from an inspiration of mine, a

pioneer talk show host who used to chide former NY Governor Mario Cuomo anytime he did something “noteworthy”.

‘Ray Ray….send’ a mme’…..tu sei propio ‘na capa freschia!”

(Ray Ray, listen to me, you got a real “clear head!)
