OLD BRIDGE — Police released a sketch of the man who used the promise of a fidget spinner and snacks to try to get two boys to leave a Quick Chek store with him.

The man tried to get the pair to come to his car parked outside the store on Cliffwood Avenue in the Laurence Harbor section on June 29, according to police.  One of the boys felt uncomfortable and alerted a store employee. The man told the employee the boys were going with him but was ordered to leave the store.

The man left the parking lot in a white Toyota, possibly a Corolla.

The suspect is described as a thin, white male in his late twenties or thirties. He was wearing a gold Yankees hat, sunglasses and a red Nike T-shirt. Police said he had brown scruff on his face. A sketch of the man was released on Thursday.

Middlesex County Crimestoppers is also offering an unspecified reward for information leading to the man's arrest. Tips can be left by calling 800-939-9600, on the website at middlesextips.com, or by texing  274637 (CRIMES) with the keyword midtip followed by a message.
