NJ Woman Convicted in Husband’s Death

A New Jersey mom has been convicted of aggravated manslaughter in the suffocation death of her ailing husband.

A Bergen County jury also found 51-year-old Jenny Tran guilty of attempting to murder her daughter on separate occasions and threatening to kill her son. She also was convicted on child endangerment charges.

Tran had been charged with murdering her husband at the family's home in March 2009.

Prosecutors say Tran saw Minh Trung Tran as a financial burden after he suffered a stroke.

But defense lawyers claimed she was psychotic at the time and didn't know what she was doing, saying she was innocent by reason of insanity.

Tran faces more than 70 years in prison when she's sentenced in February 2012.
