One person is dead after being struck by a NJ Transit train on the Northeast Corridor on Saturday night.

Amtrak spokesman Mike Tolbert said a NJ Transit train headed from Penn Station New York to Trenton struck the person near the Princeton Junction station around 9:10 p.m. The incident shut down the Northeast Corridor in both directions between Trenton and New Brunswick and the Princeton Dinky for about 40 minutes.

No injuries were reported among the 500 passengers and crew on board the train, according to Tolbert. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.

The death of Notre Dame High School senior Jacob "Coby" St. Phard was ruled a suicide after he was struck by a train on the Northeast Corridor tracks further to the south toward Trenton in early March.

Amtrak Police are leading the investigation into the most recent incident.
