NJ School Superintendent Charged With DWI
The superintendent of a southern New Jersey school district has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence after getting into an accident in his district-issued vehicle.
The Burlington County Times reports that Medford Schools Superintendent Joseph Del Rossi has been issued a court summons for driving under the influence.
Police say Del Rossi swerved off the road Sunday night and struck a light pole in a district-issued Jeep which overturned on its side. He told police that he had swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
Del Rossi did not return the paper's request for comment after the information was made public by police on Thursday.
The 57-year-old Del Rossi has been superintendent of the Medford school district since 2003.
