Authorities say a 33-year-old Paterson man faces charges for allegedly sexual assaulting a young girl and showing pornographic videos to another boy.

Juan Flores was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of second-degree sexual assault as well as two third-degree counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The charges came as a result of an investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. Police say Flores was arrested and charged for allegedly "sexually assaulting a 10-year old female child and for showing pornographic videos to a 12-year old male child."

If convicted of sexual assault, the Prosecutor's Office says, Flores could face a maximum term of 10 years in a New Jersey State Prison and will be required to serve 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole. The child endangerment charge could result in a maximum 5-year prison term in Flores is convicted, authorities said.

Fores is being held on $300,000 bail and his case has been referred to a grand jury, the Prosecutor's Office said.
