NJ College, Parents Settle Suit Over John Fiocco’s Death
The parents of a New Jersey college student whose body was found in a Pennsylvania landfill six years ago have settled a wrongful death lawsuit they filed against their son's school and the state.
The Times of Trenton reports John and Susan Fiocco of Mantua will receive a $425,000 settlement. They had claimed lax security at the College of New Jersey led to their son's death, but neither the school nor the state admitted any liability.
Eighteen-year-old John Fiocco Jr. was a freshman when he disappeared from his dorm in March 2006. His body was found a month later in a Bucks County landfill.
A cause of death has never been determined, and the circumstances surrounding Fiocco's disappearance still remain unclear.
