New Jersey Transit says service on the Morris and Essex lines remains suspended between Hackettstown and Lake Hopatcong.

But all other rail service ran mostly on schedule during the Tuesday afternoon commute.

Service on the Morris and Essex line had been suspended since Saturday, when heavy snows spawned by a massive nor'easter brought down trees and damaged power lines. But the trains started rolling again Tuesday morning.

The storm also caused hundreds of thousands of utility customers in New Jersey to lose power.

And approximately 264,000 homes and businesses were still without electricity as of late Tuesday afternoon.
