Twenty-nine-year-old Emanuel Garcia of Bronx faces several other counts in the indictment handed up Wednesday by a Middlesex County jury. He remains jailed on $1 million bail, and it was not known if he has retained an attorney.

Prosecutors say police began chasing Garcia last October after he made an illegal turn in East Brunswick. They soon ended the pursuit, but Garcia allegedly continued speeding and passing vehicles in the shoulder before running a red light.

His vehicle then broadsided a car driven by 83-year-old Dolores Krowicki and her 60-year-old daughter Karen Larue. The Spotswood residents both died several hours later.
