The suspension of Lou Racioppe, the coach at Verona High School is another example of our softening of our kids to the point where they will be complete marshmallows and unable to deal with the harsh realities of the world after they get out of school.

Yes, there are allegations of coach Racioppe is being tough, exacting consequences on players, using harsh language, and grabbing of kids masks etc. But the fact that the coach was not allowed to defend himself before his suspension was decided is another sign that schools like you are constantly in cover your butt mode and that although you claim that it is the safety of the children that is of utmost importance to you, it is actually the safety of your jobs and pensions that you are worried about.

In the olden days, Coach Racioppe's behavior would’ve been standard operating procedure and would have improved the mental and emotional fortitude of the players (Not to mention perhaps creating winning teams). That strength used to be required to play school sports.

He yelled at kids and grab the kids mask? And this is you’re what worried about? Both you and the parents who supported coach Racioppe’s suspension should be ashamed.

And even if there are facts you’re not making the public privy to give the coach the opportunity to defend himself the way you are so obviously defending yourselves. That’s the American way.
