A Humvee in a military convoy was struck by a civilian's car on the New Jersey Turnpike late Friday night according to New Jersey State Police.

The accident happened in the southbound truck lanes just south of exit #7A for I-195 in Hamilton Township when the Humvee, which was the last vehicle in a convoy of military vehicles headed to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was hit by a Nissan.

6 ABC reports the Humvee driver was ejected as his vehicle his a tree.


Six people were injured in the incident according to NBC 10 including four military personnel. New Jersey Fast Traffic reports the truck lanes were closed for a time while medical helicopters landed.
