If you watched the Stanley Cup Finals on TV last season, congratulations, you’re considered well-to-do.

According to research done by Sports Media Watch and reported by the Toronto Sun, hockey fans are the most affluent among the major sports, with a median income of $73-84k.

The least affluent were viewers of the NBA Finals at $60,000, but that may be because the NBA Finals also had the youngest average viewer. Not surprisingly, the World Series had the oldest average viewer, with half of them being in their 50s.

Keep in mind that the survey is only about those who watch the events on TV, and not the people in the building; if it were just those in attendance, my guess would be that the NBA Finals would have the wealthiest fans.
