Fire-Damaged Charter School Seeks New Site
Classes will not resume until at least Thursday for students of a Hoboken charter school that was severely damaged by fire last week.
Officials with the Hoboken Charter School tell The Jersey Journal that they are trying to find a site where they can hold classes for students in the school's K-8 program.
Seven firefighters were injured and some 200 students had to be evacuated when a three-alarm fire erupted at the school Thursday morning. Roughly 100 students at a nearby school were also evacuated as a precaution.
It's still not clear what sparked the blaze, which started on the second floor of the four-story charter school building.
The structure sustained major fire, smoke, and water damage.
