Weekend travelers in New Jersey have several closures and delays to deal with on the roads and rails.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation closed the ramp from Route 18 northbound to Route 1 southbound in New Brunswick as the $30 million bridge replacement project nears and end. A new ramp is scheduled to open Monday morning.

The ramp from Route 9 north to the northbound side of Garden State Parkway in Sayreville also will be closed by the DOT until 5 a.m. Monday to allow work on a nearby bridge as part of a New Jersey Turnpike project. A detour will take drivers further north into Woodbridge where they can get onto the northbound Parkway.

Two long term projects also will experience weekend closures. The Port Authority has a full closure in place on the Bayonne Bridge in both directions until 5 a.m. Monday. The Pulaski Skyway, meanwhile, will be closed southbound until 2 p.m. on Saturday to allow the installation of deck panels. The DOT said the same closure will be in place next weekend starting 10 p.m. Friday.

NJ Transit rides are also affected by weekend work.  Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line, Morris & Essex and Montclair Line trains are subject to up to 15 minute delays due to Amtrak track maintenance between Secaucus and Newark Penn Station.
