New Jersey drivers who take the Bayonne Bridge during their commute will have to find an alternate route this weekend, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
If you're heading from New Jersey to Staten Island early next week, don't plan on taking the Bayonne Bridge during the late-night and early-morning hours.
Pedestrians and cyclists crossing the Bayonne Bridge on weekends will be able to take shuttle buses while the bridge's walkway is closed as part of a large-scale project.
Several environmental and neighborhood groups have sued the Coast Guard and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in an effort to halt a project to raise the Bayonne Bridge until a fuller environmental study can be conducted.
