Don’t tase me? Man with machetes surrenders after cops pull stun gun
Authorities subdued a man who allegedly threatened to stab two family members at an Atlantic City home.
No injuries were reported in the incident that occurred around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
City police went to the home after getting reports that a man with two machetes was threatening to stab someone and was holding two family members in a kitchen. Upon arrival, they found 23-year-old city resident Jonathan Quintana holding a large knife.
Quintana refused repeated orders to drop the knife, so one officer pulled out a Taser but did not use it. Upon seeing the Taser, Quintana dropped the knife.
Authorities say Quintana had thrown knives at a woman and slashed her property. He's charged with aggravated assault and other counts.
Bail was set at $50,000 for Quintana. It wasn't known Saturday if he's retained an attorney.
