NEWARK — The Newark Department of Public Safety released video from the Paraiso Bar of two men they believe were involved in an armed robbery Thursday night and are hoping the public can help identify them.

Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said the men entered the Orange Street bar just after 1 a.m. on Thursday morning and demanded money from the register while using a gun.

The surveillance video shows the men walking into the bar together. Customers can be seen running out of the bar, and ends with the men walking quickly away.

The first suspect is described as being between the ages of 30 and 40-years-old and wearing a red sweatshirt. Ambrose said there was no additional information on the second suspect. He said the investigation is ongoing.

Newark police are encouraging anyone with information about the suspects to call the Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS or 1-877-NWK-GUNS. Information provided to the Crime Stoppers are confidential and could result in a reward according to Ambrose.
