School Superintendent Richard O'Malley tells the Home News Tribune the district received ten bids before settling on Dobco Inc. of Wayne to build a new James Monroe Elementary School.

The project is expected to cost about $28 million and be completed by August 2016.

Groundbreaking will take place on May 15.

Police investigators believe the 2014 fire started after a cigarette that a janitor had smoked in the school ignited in a trash can and spread throughout the school.

The janitor was fined $200.
