Governor Christie vs. The New Jersey Judiciary

Again, Governor Christie has gone to the mat with the New Jersey Judiciary. More aptly, to the steel cage in a grudge match. He has excoriated them as arrogant, clique-ish, greedy and self serving. A Clique that defies logic, tradition, and most of all, the New Jersey constitution.  Certainly the recent decision by a Superior Court judge to the advantage of her fellow club members reinforces the Governor's opinion.

The court's supporters claim that such a decision is necessary to preserve the System's "judicial independence." That independence is , or course another Jersey Myth. Like Home Rule and the Jersey Devil.  These bench seats are generally bought with political contributions to the appointing party or loyal service to the same party.

Governor Christie's effort to bring them to bay deserves our enthusiastic support.
