Celebrities who could play Jersey people, Donnie Wahlberg weighs in
Friday nights in the Trevelise house are usually spent watching the new "Hawaii 5-0" and "Bluebloods." Every time I watch, I could see Alex O. Loughlin who plays Steve McGarrett playing Bruce Springsteen and Donnie Wahlberg as Frank Sinatra. Then I asked who you thought could play famous Jersey people. Imagine my surprise when Donnie Wahlberg responded to my Facebook request.
Our Editorial Director here at Townsquare, Stephen Lenz, weighs in with Jon Favreau as Governor Christie citing a shot from the new Spiderman movie. Other Chris Christie possibilities include Jonah Hill, Kevin James, John Goodman, Steve Schirripa, and Rosie O'Donnell. That last one came from Richard.
To play former Governor Christie Todd Whitman, the suggestions are Merril Streep, Jane Lynch, and Nancy Kulp who played Miss Jane Hathaway on The Beverly Hillbillies. Then again since Merril Streep is from Summit, who would play Merril Streep?
Other suggestions include Melissa McCarthy as Lou Costello, Jason Statham as Bruce Willis, Jordan Sparks as Whitney Houston, and Abe Vigoda as Frank Lautenberg, we also had Danny DeVito as Snooki.
John Stamos as Bill Spadea? That last one came from Spadea's engineer Brian Gregory whom I assume is asking for a raise.
As for who to play me? We had Jon BonJovi. I'd give Ben Nagy a raise for that. Howard Stern, and Jimmy Durante. Thanks guys!
One that I thought was both funny and spot on (though not Jersey related) was Biff Tannen from "Back To The Future" as Donald Trump.
You can't unsee it!
