Body of Missing South Amboy Boater Found

State Police divers have found the body of a missing New Jersey man who vanished while trying to retrieve a lost boat motor.

Sayreville police say 24-year-old Paul Chrzaszcz of South Amboy was found around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The boat motor was found next to his body.

Chrzaszcz was out boating with a friend Sunday when the motor fell off the boat. They marked the location with a magnet device, then returned Monday to retrieve the motor.

Chrzaszcz went into the water wearing a wet suit, but no breathing apparatus. When he failed to surface, his friend called police around 8 p.m. Monday.

Crews spent about four hours looking for Chrzaszcz before the search was suspended just before midnight Monday. The search was resumed around daybreak Tuesday.
