Prosecutors say a former teller stole more than $240,000 from a Manhattan bank and was arrested gambling at a baccarat table at an Atlantic City casino.

Sephoen Tsang was being held on $150,000 bail after pleading not guilty Friday to grand larceny and other charges.

The Manhattan District Attorney's office says the 22-year-old Tsang made bogus computer entries Nov. 29 to cover the $243,000 theft. Prosecutors say he left an apologetic note for his Chase bank branch manager before leaving work.

Prosecutors say $26,000 in cash was found in his apartment.

Tsang's lawyer, Jane Fisher-Byrialsen, says her client denies the allegations. She says he left the bank to focus on his studies toward an accounting degree.

A spokesman for New York-based JPMorgan Chase says no customers were affected.
