Crime is going up. Your quiet neighborhood and shopping areas aren't quite as safe as you might have thought they were.

In just the past couple of weeks I have reported two vehicles that my security cameras captured to the police. One guy was so brazen as to pull into my driveway to take pictures of my property and then do the same with our neighbor.

I worked with Acteon Networks to design a security system for my home because I was receiving threats against me, my wife, my kids, and even my dog — all because they didn't like the things I said on the radio.

But I've learned the problem is bigger than that. We purposefully designed the surveillance system to be very visible. If you pull into my driveway, you'll be greeted by the license plate reader and then two cameras as you approach the house. The cameras are bright white against my dark green house.

As an aside, if there's a car in your neighborhood that you don't think belongs, call the local police. Don't hesitate to pick up the phone because you don't want to be a pain in the neck or you think the police are busy with more important matters. I've talked with a lot of my police officer friends over the past couple of months and the theme is the same: Better you err on the side of caution. It's all confidential, so I'm telling you: If you see something, you need to say something.

There are a lot of bad actors out there. We cannot tolerate these criminals who will take advantage of you because you’re not prepared.  If you're serious about protecting yourself, your family, and your business, connect with Acteon Networks at acteon.net or by calling (833) 422-8366.
