Residents were taken to a temporary shelter at City Hall. One of the buildings was completely destroyed according to News 12 New Jersey which reports the blaze started in the basement of a restaurant.

No injuries or fatalities are reported.

Mayor Alex Blanco told News 12 NJ that the buildings are older and were built right up next to each other which helped the fire spread rapidly. PSE&G shut off a gas line that was feeding the fire.
