It was just an unbelievable sea of humanity! More than 6,000 swimmers took the icy plunge to raise money for Special Olympics New Jersey at the Polar Bear Plunge at Seaside Saturday!

At 2:30, organizers from Special Olympics New Jersey told Big Joe Henry, broadcasting live from Spicy Cantina along the boardwalk, that they'd hit their fundraising goal of $1.7 million.

Watch as Big Joe Henry counts down to the all those swimmers running into the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean!

And in the video below, Big Joe Henry welcomes the crowd to the 2016 Polar Bear Plunge and he introduces Ronnie Brooks, who sang the National Anthem.
