EWING — A woman was found dead inside her Ewing home early Wednesday morning and a suspect is in custody.

Mercer County Acting Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said 51-year-old Rufina Castro was found lying dead in the bedroom of her Ewingville Road home around 3 a.m. by police responding to a request for a wellness check.

There was no forced entry to the home and a suspect is in police custody, according to Onofri, who said a preliminary investigation suggests the incident was related to a domestic dispute.

Authorities did not say how she may have died.

Officials also did not release the name of the suspect because no charges have been filed. The suspect's relationship to the victim was not disclosed.

Property records show the home, which faces Antheil Elementary School, is owned by Castro and Roberto Miranda. Their relationship to one another is not clear from the records.

Onofri asked anyone with information about the incident call the Mercer County Homicide Task Force at 609-989-6406 or the Ewing Police Department at 609-882-7530.
