What’s The Story With The Mattress Guy?

Have you seen him? There's a guy who frequently drives around on the Turnpike with a mattress strapped to the roof of his car.

What's interesting – and somewhat scary – is that the mattress is not securely strapped down - and the front of it is flapping up – almost standing straight up in the air - as he travels 65 miles an hour!

The last time I saw “the mattress guy” was a couple of days ago in the southbound lanes of the Turnpike approaching Exit 9 – but I’ve seen the same person driving the same car – hauling a mattress around on the same highway - on at least 3 previous occasions this year – each time with the mattress almost standing straight up in the air.

I’m wondering if “the mattress guy” is a total nut-case, or if there’s some good reason why he continues to drive around with a mattress on the top of his car.

I’m also amazed the mattress hasn’t actually flown off the car and caused a serious accident.

What’s “the mattress guy’s" story? Perhaps we’ll never know…
