We have your new favorite holiday drink
It was a hit with the morning crew and now it can be a hit at your next holiday party: Eric Scott's buttered rum! It's easy to make and even easier to sip, here's how it's done:
- Melt two sticks of butter over low heat until no longer bubbling
- Whisk in two and half cups of spiced apple cider
- Add two teaspoons of ground cloves (or six whole cloves)
- Add about ½ cup of dark brown sugar
- Add three cinnamon sticks
- Whisk until sugar is melted and the batter is well blended
- DO NOT allow to come to a boil
- Add 1 ½ ounces of dark rum to a glass or mug
- Ladle in batter to taste
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick or fresh nutmeg
- Serve warm and enjoy!
*** For an added treat, top with fresh whipped cream or a half scoop of vanilla ice cream
