NEWARK — Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and Democrat Phil Murphy take the stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for their first gubernatorial debate on Tuesday.

The debate starts at 7 p.m. and will air live on Philadelphia's WPVI and New York City's WABC, two of the debate's sponsors.

Democrat Murphy comes into the debate with a 14 per cent lead over Republican Guadagno, 51 to 37 percent, according to a Monmouth University poll released last week. With less than a month to go until Election Day it's the closest the polls have been.

Tuesday night's debate is also sponsored by Univision in New York and Philadelphia, NJ Advance Media, NJBIZ, NJ Spotlight, El Diario, Rutgers University, League of Women Voters NJ, Lead NJ, and the National Association of Latino Elected Officials.
