WATCH: Are there ghosts in Asbury Park?

I'm a skeptic. I'm analytical and as open-minded as I am, I'm always looking for evidence and proof to backup information. I've done paranormal investigations in the past, but was especially excited to join two amazing teams - New Jersey Paranormal and the Garden State Ghost Hunters - to check out Asbury Park's Convention Hall and Paramount Theater, which will be home to Townsquare Media's Haunted Hall throughout October.

The goal was to determine once and for all if the venues are, in fact, haunted. For hours, the teams took audio and video recordings throughout the historic locations. I investigated The Paramount with my colleagues Colleen Hall and Justin Louis of Ocean County Paranormal. My friends from NJ Paranormal investigated the Convention Hall side.

Throughout the evening, members of both teams had what we refer to as "personal experiences" ranging from hearing disembodied voices and being touched lightly, to chills, hearing things move and just the general sensation that we weren't alone.

The NJP team explored the darkest corners of Convention Hall, picking up sounds including audible voices saying "Yeah" and seemingly responding to questions and interaction.

Some pieces of evidence were particularly interesting. The following clip was recorded by Justin as he, Colleen and I were in one of the dressing rooms that was heavily damaged in a deadly fire in the 1950s. We all felt chills and at one point the sensation of being touched. In this audio clip, about halfway in (about the 4-5 second mark), a whisper is heard among those speaking in the room:

Another piece of evidence came from one of the the dressing rooms where Justin, Colleen and myself were investigating. In the clip, you can clearly hear the sound of something being dragged across the table. The interesting part is the fact that the three of us were all standing in the middle of the room, not touching any tables or shelving:

So is the location haunted? I can't say with 100 percent certainly, but what I can say is that the experience left me with chills and the feeling that we weren't alone in the Paramount or Convention Hall.

Throughout October, visitor will have the opportunity to visit the historic location and experience some chills of their own as they walk through our Haunted Hall attraction at Convention Hall.
