In 1982, Albert Trevelise retired after 30 years on the Union City Fire Department. He's in the center of a picture from the station, standing up to the right wearing a white T-shirt. That picture still hangs on the wall in the 16th Street firehouse.

Recently, his grandchildren got to see where he worked thanks to Dad's oldest and dearest friend, Capt. Robbo Pisani. For one shining moment, Albert Trevelise got behind the wheel of a Union City fire engine as did his brother Lennon. Grandpa would be proud and I'm sure he's smiling down.

Steve Trevelise is on the air from Monday-Thursday, 7 to 11 p.m. Tweet him @realstevetrev or @nj1015.
