In his new job, Steve Callender will oversee all business operations at the Boardwalk resort. His appointment was announced Wednesday.

Callender has served as Tropicana's senior vice president of casino operations since late 2010.

He began his career in the industry as a dealer at Resorts when it opened in 1978 as New Jersey's first casino. He then worked his way up to vice president of casino operations before becoming casino manager at the former Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort.

Callender also held a management position at Bally's Atlantic City.
