ATLANTIC CITY - Two men from out-of-town have been arrested for a shooting outside the Tropicana Hotel and Casino early Sunday morning.

Atlantic City Police said shots were heard coming from the casino's south tower valet area around 2:37 a.m. and found Xavier Smith, 24, from New York wounded with gunshot wounds on Pacific Avenue. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

Using video surveillance from the Tropicana's security team, two suspects were identified and arrested soon afterwards. One suspect, Eugene Storm, 23, from Pennsylvania was located and arrested 4 blocks away on Albion Place, according to police, who said Storm's discarded jacket had a handgun in the pocket.

Police said George Walker, 30, from New York was arrested when he returned to the crime scene.

Both men were charged with two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, possession of hollow-point ammunition, conspiracy and tampering with evidence. They are being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending $150,000 bail.
