Two Homicides Probed in Plainfield

Union County's homicide task force is investigating two killings that occurred in Plainfield Monday.

In the first, a woman was found dead at her home of a gunshot wound at about 4 p.m. A second person was found in a detached garage and taken to the hospital. An unidentified suspect was in custody awaiting charges.

About 90 minutes later, police responding to a report of a shooting found 19-year-old Keston Alleyne suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at a hospital 45 minutes later.

No arrests have been made in that shooting.

Authorities believe the two homicides are unrelated.
