Trial opened Tuesday for one of the five people charged in Bucks County in the death of 56-year-old Danny DeGennaro of Levittown, who prosecutors say was killed during a robbery attempt. A well-known local musician, DeGennaro had played with Bo Diddley and Billy Squier.

Prosecutors say 20-old-year-old Jermaine M. Jackson of Trenton, N.J., didn't pull the trigger but helped plan and carry out the killing, conspiring with four other men.

The Bucks County Courier Times says defense attorney Craig Penglase told jurors that his client had been invited to  the home for a drug transaction but had left by the time of the murder.
