Trenton slaughterhouse ticketed after cow escaped
TRENTON (AP) — Animal control officers have ticketed a Trenton slaughterhouse for creating a public nuisance after a cow escaped.
The bovine fled Trenton Halal Packing Company in the city's Chambersburg during unloading on Friday morning and made its way through Trenton to Interstate 295 after it was shot with a tranquilizer dart. It died shortly after.
Trenton Health Officer James Brownlee tells The Times of Trenton the case will be heard in municipal court.
The company's owner could not be reached for comment.
