August 20, 1990Aerosmith appears at the Marquee Club in London. Special guest Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame joins the band on stage for a blues jam session.

August 21, 1982Bono ties the knot in Ireland with longtime girlfriend Alison Stewart. By his side is U2 bassist Adam Clayton acting as Bono’s best man.

August 22, 1992 – Newlyweds Sting and Trudie Styler have their wedding reception two days after tying the knot. The Troggs are there to kick-off the festivities; afterwards Sting and band members of The Police play a couple songs as well.

August 23, 1967 – While celebrating a wild birthday party at a Holiday Inn, The Who’s drummer Keith Moon accidentally drives a car into the hotel swimming pool. Moon was attempting to avoid having to talk to police who had arrived to break up the party. He quietly slipped out the back, climbed into a Lincoln Continental limousine, but in his inebriated state released the handbrake and began rolling towards the pool before realizing what was about to happen.

August 24, 1975Queen starts recording ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ at Rockfield studio’s in Wales. The band sang their vocal parts continually for 10-12 hours per day, three days straight, resulting in 180 separate vocal overdubs. Guitarist Brian May recalled placing the tape in front of a light and being able to see through it, as they had been recording so intensely.

August 25, 1994Jimmy Buffett crashes his Grumman G-44 Widgeon seaplane on take-off in Nantucket, Massachusetts. The airplane nosed over, and Buffett was able to swim to safety with only minor injuries. He credits his survival to Navy survival training he had to complete before being able to ride in an F-14 Tomcat.

August 26, 1967Mick Jagger and The Beatles meet in Bangor North Wales to seek guidance from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. They’re interested in learning about Transcendental Meditation and attend an introductory seminar given by Yogi in the main hall of the Hugh Owen Buildings, now part of Bangor University. Over 300 people attended the seminar.
