If you’re looking for a growth industry, look no further. According to Marketwatch, tattoo removal has grown 440% over the past decade. “Relationship break ups and job hunting has led to a surge in tattoo removals”; it’s not just regret that is fueling the boom, it’s the economy, too.

Job seekers are finding that some employers have a no-tattoo policy and if their clothes don’t cover it up, they could be in trouble. Most of the people seeking tattoo removal are in their 30s and 40s as the decisions of their twenties come home to roost. Removal experts say that some of today’s tattoos are particularly hard to erase; multiple pastel colors are problematic.
