NJ101.5 has partnered with local animal rescue organizations EASEL Animal Rescue League, Sammy’s Hope and Just in Time Rescue to feature adoptable local pets in need of homes.

Help us find these pets homes by sharing this information with family members and friends who may be interested in adopting a shelter pet.

Adopt Darcy

Darcy is a great kitten, bright-eyed and cute as can be. She's also very funny and enjoys dancing and playing. Darcy especially likes to chase her favorite ball and wrestle with her sister Marcy. Darcy'€™s coat is mostly orange stripes with accents of white, pretty unusual for a girl cat! The only thing missing is her forever home and a human to call her own!

If you are interested in meeting Darcy or fostering/adopting her, please email us at cats@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the adoption application form here or you can see more adoptable cats from Sammy’s Hope here.

Adopt Tapper

Tapper is a stunning big dog who came in as a stray. He's about 3-years-old and is very nice. He's also in very good shape, and looks like someone kept him well fed and cared for. We think he's some kind of Mastiff mix, and while he's exhibited some guarding type behaviors, he seems to have an even temperament and is trainable. Tapper will sit on command and walks well on a leash for a dog his size. Tapper is calm, strong, and a bit independent. He's also playful, eager and curious.

If you're interested in learning more about Tapper or to schedule a visit, email dogs@easelnj.org. Find more of EASEL’s adoptable dogs, puppies here or download a PDF copy of the application form here.

Adopt Montana

Montana was born in a high kill shelter in South Carolina.  She was rescued with her brothers, sisters and mom, Annie, and brought to New Jersey to be fostered until they are ready for adoption. Her mom is a Golden Retriever, but we don't have information on what her dad was.   This beauty will be ready for adoption in a few weeks and will be fully vetted and vaccinated prior to adoption.  She will also be spayed by the rescue at six months of age.

For more information about adopting Montana, email peaceforalllife@yahoo.com.

Adopt Cocoa

Cocoa is a Labrador Retriever and American Staffordshire terrier mix who came to the shelter with her housemate, Shadow, when her family lost their home. Initially she was very scared in the shelter and uninterested in making friends. Over the past few months, she has come out of her shell and really blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, and gentle dog. She walks like a dream on the leash and enjoys quiet time with her volunteer friends. She would make a great companion for some very lucky human!

If you're interested in meeting Cocoa or fostering/adopting her, please email us at info@sammyshope.org. You can download a PDF copy of the application form here or you can see more adoptable dogs from Sammy’s Hope here.
