Taliban Wing Claims Responsibility For Church Attack That Killed At Least 60
A wing of the Pakistani Taliban is claiming responsibility for the deadliest assault ever on Pakistan's Christian minority.
At least 60 people were killed and 120 wounded when a pair of suicide bombers attacked a historic church in Peshawar following services today.
A government official says the attack occurred as hundreds of worshippers were coming out of All Saints Church to get a free meal of rice on the front lawn.
A man who identified himself as the spokesman for the Jundullah wing of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. He said the group will continue to target non-Muslims until the United States stops drone attacks in Pakistan's remote tribal region.
Jundullah has previously claimed responsibility for attacks on minority Shiite Muslims in the southwestern Baluchistan province. Hard-line Sunni extremists like the Taliban consider Shiites to be heretics.
