The bridge was reopened around 11:45 a.m. after an inspection was completed by crews from the Burlington County Bridge Commission, the agency that runs the bridge.

Both sides of the 84-year-old bridge was lowered around 10 a.m.

The Burlington County Bridge Commission explains that  two leafs that raise and lower malfunctioned would not move  according to WPVI TV. A roller under a maintenance walkway seized up and jammed the plates causing the bridge to not move. The jammed plates were removed and replaced with temporary covers.

The bridge, which carries 70,000 daily,  would not come back down after an opening around 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning according to WCAU TV. One side of the bridge was fully up while the other side was nearly back in its normal down position.
