Shaneen Allen had a firearm in her car that she legally carries in her home state during the stop. Allen, a mother of 2, was driving to Atlantic City to set up for a birthday party when she was stopped. Allen acquired the gun legally 1 week before the stop after being robbed twice.

A judge has already said that Allen will not be allowed PTI and will go to trial. Allen is now facing the mandatory minimum 3 years in jail. Allen's only hope may be legislation introduced by Assemblyman Ron Dancer that would give judges the flexibility to impose a mandatory sentence or have the defendant enter into a pretrial intervention program based on the individual's background.

Do you think Allen should  receive any jail time for this? Take the poll below and let us know what you think.
