The $2.4 billion Revel resort, Atlantic City's newest casino, had its first test night Wednesday to see how its systems and people fared.

David Rebuck, director of the state's Gaming Enforcement Division, says a few dozen slot machines jammed up, but no serious problems surfaced.

An escalator malfunctioned and a bar had issues with handling credit card transactions. But gamblers invited to the event said they were wowed by the multi-level casino's design and features.

Among them was Margy Wolsey of Atlantic City. She usually plays at Harrah's, but plans to come to Revel from now on.

About 5,000 guests were invited for Wednesday's trial, and 10,000 will be there on Thursday.

The resort opens to the public Monday morning.
