Pedestrian fatality in Elizabeth shuts down service on NJ Transit
NJ Transit has temporarily suspended service on the Northeast Corridor line due to a pedestrian fatality near the Elizabeth train station.
According to the NJ Transit website, service was suspended in both directions as of about 7:48 p.m. "due to a tresspasser fatality." NJT has not yet released any information about the victim.
According to the NJ Transit website, PATH is currently cross-honoring NJT rail tickets at 33rd Street, Hoboken and Newark Penn Station until further notice. In addition, NJ Transit bus and private carriers will also cross-honor train tickets systemwide, an alert on the website states.
