A list of over the top gifts for the holidays

Here are some off the chart goodies we can purchase for the holidays.  If we hit the lottery.

The 2014 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book is now available.

The catalog known for outlandish gifts has out done itself with its 88th edition.

Here are some of the gifts we can drool over.

How about a trip to Paris.  Sure, some of us can afford that.  This particular journey includes designing your own fragrance with a master perfumer and having your very own scent put in 14 karat gold bottles.  The price, a steal for only $475,000.

For non-animal rights gift givers the high end department store has this nifty hand bag.  It's a cranberry colored crocodile purse.  Buy it with your pocket change for $18,850.  We wonder why those crocks get ticked off.

The next item is really cool.

It's a trip to the Oscars.  That's kind of misleading because this does not include a seat at the awards presentation.  You do get two tickets to the Vanity Fair after party.  That in itself is a big deal.  The Vanity Fair affair is, by far, the most difficult after party to get invited to.  Imagine the entertainment, food, take home goodies and schmoozing with the bigger than life movie stars!

If the Vanity Fair party isn't your thing, how about a trip to the Mardi Gras?   Six couples are included for this five day party in New Orleans.  For $125,000 you will get special restaurant reservations.  They don't specify what the "special" means.  Included is a cottage in the French Quarter, a ride on a float, and a black tie ball hosted by Harry Connick Jr.

A few additional baubles in Neiman's Christmas Book include a $35,000 cocktail shaker, an amphibious vehicle for 50 grand, and $55,000 worth of linens.

For the record, not everything in the catalog is crazy nuts expensive.  Over half the items sell for less than $250 dollars.

Give me a Mega Millions straight and box ticket, please and maybe I'll be able to purchase a few of these items listed above.
