One Killed In Burlington City Police Shooting
The suspicious man near a Burlington City car dealership who police say shot first was killed by an officer who returned fire has been identified.
The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office says a Burlington City patrolman responded around 12:15AM Tuesday morning to the report of someone in an overgrown lot near the Willis Honda dealership on Route 130.
The officer chased the man, 32-year-old Jason Bunnell of Mount Laurel, on foot, who fired at him. The unidentified officer returned fire and killed the man.
The officer was hospitalized and released; he has been placed on administrative leave.
The prosecutor's office is reviewing whether the proper amount of force was used by the officer.
